RAM KRISHAN PARAMHANSA-“It a thorn has entered your feet, get another thorn to take out the first, then the row away the second.”

RAM V CHANDRAN –“The role of ego in worldly life differs from its role in spiritual life. Ego means self-esteem, pride, vanity etc. To lead a successful worldly life, self-esteem is a positive virtue, but vanity is a negative quality for spiritual practice, ego is the barrier and should be crushed.”

RAMADAS –“First a person should learn to lead a life of righteousness, discharge one’s duties to self and neighbours and then think of the other (spiritual) side of life. One who strives to establish >Dharma is alone a godly person.”

RAMANA MAHARISHI – “When you turn the mind inwards. God manifests as the inner consciousness.”

RAMANA MAHARISHI –“For the faithful, the work lies within, not without.”

RAMANA MAHARISHI –“Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations. You are originally unlimited and perfect. Later you take on limitations and become the mind.”

RAMANA MAHARISHI –“You know that you know nothing. Find out that knowledge. That is liberation, rnukti.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“As an example of direct perception everyone will quote the simile of the nellikai (gooseberry) placed in the palm of the hand. The Self is even more directly perceivable than the fruit on the palm. To perceive the fruit there must be the fruit, the palm to place it on and the eyes to see it. The mind should also be in the proper condition (to process the information). Without any of these four things, even those with very little knowledge can say out of direct experience, “I am”. Because the Self exists just as the feeling “I am”, atma vidya is very easy indeed. The easiest path is to see the one who is going to attain the atma (Self).”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“Concentration upon one thought makes all other thoughts disappears. Finally, that thought also disappears.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“In the court of Chidambaram, Shiva, motionless by nature, dances in rapture for Shakti, and She stands motionless. Know that in Arunachala He stands in solemnity and She withdraws there into His unmoving self.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations. You are originally unlimited and perfect. Later you take on limitations and become the mind.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“The seer and the object are like the rope and the snake. Just as the knowledge of the rope which is the substratum will not arise unless the false knowledge of the illusory serpent goes, so the realization of the Self which is the substratum will not be gained unless the belief that the world’s real is removed.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“The ultimate truth is so simple. It is nothing more than being in the pristine state. This is all that needs to be said. Only mature minds can grasp the simple truth in all its nakedness.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“What does solitude Or seclusion mean? The self being all “extensive there can be no fixed spot for its solitary state; however to be still is to remain solitary.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“When one turns within and searches Whence this ‘I’ thought arises, The shamed ‘I’ vanishes And wisdom’s quest begins.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“When we turn the mind inwards, God manifests as the inner consciousness.”

RAMANA MAHARSHI –“You do not acquire happiness. Your nature is happiness. Bliss is not newly acquired. All that is done is to remove unhappiness.”

RAMANA. MAHARSHI –“The grace of the guru is like an ocean. If one comes with a cup he will only get a cupful. It is no use complaining of the niggardliness of the ocean. The bigger the vessel the more one will be able to carry It is entirely up to him.”

RAMAYANA –“0 friends, behold my chariot through which I am always decidedly victorious… courage and tenacity are its wheels, immutable truth and character are its flags. Strength, discrimination, self-control and charity are its horses. Forgiveness, merc
